What's the Zoo-de-Mack? It's a 23-year-old rite of spring in Northern Michigan--a leisurely bike ride from the Zoo Bar at Boyne Highlands, Harbor Springs, to Mackinaw City. The 51-mile ride takes cyclists through the Tunnel of Trees to Cross Village for lunch at Legs Inn and onto Mackinaw City.

Once in Mackinaw City, the riders can head by ferry to Mackinac Island or dine at the Crossings. The weekend begins with a party at Boyne Highlands' Zoo Bar. The ride begins Saturday morning between 8-11am. The post ride party in Mackinaw City takes place in the afternoon at the Crossings and yet another party during the evening on Mackinac Island.

More than 2,500 bicyclists--including many families--are expected to ride in the Zoo-de-Mack. The ride passes through hard woods filled with trillium and travels along Lake Michigan. The registration fee of $65 includes the parties in Harbor Springs, Mackinaw City, and Mackinac Island, lunch at Legs Inn, ferry tickets to Mackinac Island, and luggage transportation to Mackinaw City.
